If you applied for a Community Child Care Planning Grant then you know how important affordable child care space is to the social and economic success of your community. Like many other communities you may be challenged by a lack of child care spaces due to a shortage of facilities, a not enough early childhood educators, unaffordable services or more.
Engaging stakeholders, creating an inventory, a needs assessment and action plan that outlines short-, medium- and long-term space creation goals for the community is essential to help solve the child care challenge.
Starting in May, we are helping Whistler with that process and as always a robust engagement strategy will be part of our approach. If you received a planning grant please contact us to see how we can support you, as well.
