Tourism Revelstoke governance review

We assisted Tourism Revelstoke (Revelstoke’s destination management organization (DMO)) with a governance review and a board workshop. This work included:

• Reviewing Tourism Revelstoke’s governance background material including constitution, bylaws, governance manual, board policies/procedures, annual reports, accountability, transparency, diversity, equity, and interface with other entities.
• Reviewing leading practices of other DMOs, including board policies and procedures, strategic plans, organizational structure, membership and voting, industry engagement practices, and funding.
• Developing a set of governance guiding principles and best practices checklist.
• Developing a set of recommendations to strengthen Tourism Revelstoke’s governance policies and practices.
• Designing and hosting a workshop with the board and key partners to introduce them to the project findings and to provide and discuss our recommendations.
